Inspired by the LA homeless housing projects, this homeless housing design focuses on modularity, community, and recreation. Each trapezoid module in the design makes up a petal of the octagon structure. The module either serves as double studio apartments, recreation rooms, or elevator & stair access. The octagon design, which evolved from the panopticon, also encourages community gathering in the center and fosters relationships between residents to combat loneliness in the homeless population. There are multiple entries to the roof gardens from each floor above.
